AFAS AI koppeling

Do you want to connect your ERP with Grok? In Grok, the AI assistant from xAI, you add your own connector to each account. iWeb AI Connect is set up within a few minutes. After that you query your ERP environment in the chat and get answers from your live figures.

Below you can read how to connect Grok with your ERP, which questions you can ask and what to watch out for. Are you looking for the general explanation, separate from an AI tool? You can find it in How does the iWeb AI Connect connector work?

Does Grok work with your ERP?

Yes. Grok works with your ERP through iWeb AI Connect, a connector based on MCP (Model Context Protocol), the open standard that connects AI with your own software. Grok calls this a custom connector. You do not log in within your ERP itself. You fill in the details of your ERP environment on the connector page of iWebDevelopment. Which subscription you need for iWeb AI Connect is explained on the iWeb AI Connect page.

Connecting your ERP with Grok, step by step

This is the connector link you add to Grok:

https://mcp-afas.iwebdevelopment.com
You can add your own connector to any Grok account. If you use Grok Business or Enterprise, an administrator adds the connector for your organisation first.
1Go to grok.com/connectors.
2Click New Connector and choose Custom.
3Give the connector a name (for example iWeb AI Connect) and paste the connector link into the server URL field. Click Add Connector.
4You are redirected to the connection page of iWebDevelopment. Enter the details of your ERP environment and connect. You only need to do this once.
5Start a new chat and ask your question. Grok uses the connector by itself as soon as your question is about your bookkeeping.
Tip: if Grok keeps hanging after connecting, the window of the connection page was probably closed too early. Cancel and add the connector again. Do you get an answer, but not from your own figures? Then mention iWeb AI Connect literally in your question.

What can you ask Grok about your bookkeeping?

As soon as the connector is active, you query your ERP administration directly. Grok finds the answer in your figures and can, with your approval, also prepare something. A few examples:

"Which costs in the general ledger rose the most this quarter?"
"Which sales invoices have been outstanding for more than thirty days, and how much money is involved?"
"Which purchase contacts do we use most?"
"Prepare a draft sales invoice for sales contact X."

So looking up and preparing, with you in control: you first see a proposal in the chat, and only after your approval is it processed in your ERP. What is possible depends on the rights you grant to the App Connector. The complete overview of what the connector can do is found in How does the iWeb AI Connect connector work?

Is the connector with Grok secure?

Your bookkeeping data stays in your ERP. Through the rights on the App Connector you decide exactly which data Grok may view and which actions are allowed; you do not share your password with the AI tool. You can revoke the access whenever you want. Read more about security and privacy in the general connector article.

Please note: Grok uses conversations by default to improve its models. If you work with financial data, turn that off via Settings → Data Controls by disabling Improve the model.

Prefer a different AI assistant?

iWeb AI Connect works with other assistants too. Prefer something else? Have a look at the explanation for Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, Perplexity or Mistral.

Frequently asked questions

Mention iWeb AI Connect literally in your question. If you still get nothing back, check whether the App Connector in your ERP has been given the right permissions.

Yes, Grok can for example prepare a sales invoice or credit note as a draft. It is only processed after you approve it, and only within the permissions you have granted to the App Connector.
