Do you want to connect Exact Online with Gemini? You can do this through Google's command line (Antigravity CLI or Gemini CLI) with the MCP connector from iWeb. Once the connection is in place, you query your Exact Online administration in plain language and get answers from your live figures.

Does Gemini work with Exact Online?
Yes, with one caveat. The connector works through MCP (Model Context Protocol), the open standard that lets an AI assistant safely pull data from external software. In the Gemini app you can now add your own connectors, but only in the United States, in English and with a personal Google account. In the Netherlands you therefore connect Exact Online through the command line (for technical users) or through Gemini Enterprise.
Please note: since 18 June 2026, Google has replaced the Gemini CLI for free users and for Google AI Pro and Ultra with Antigravity CLI. With a business Gemini Code Assist licence or a paid Gemini API key the Gemini CLI keeps working as usual. Both variants are described below.

Custom connectors in the Gemini app are currently only available in the US. In the Netherlands this works through the command line (Antigravity CLI or Gemini CLI, for technical users) or through Gemini Enterprise.
Through the command line
1Install Antigravity CLI according to Google's installation instructions. If you have a business Gemini Code Assist licence or a paid Gemini API key, you can also use the Gemini CLI.
2Add the connector to your MCP configuration under mcpServers, with the connector link as the server. In Antigravity CLI you do this in ~/.gemini/config/mcp_config.json:{

3Log in to Exact Online once and click Authorise. In Antigravity you start the login through Customizations → Authenticate in the settings and then paste the authorisation code back. In the Gemini CLI the login opens in your browser automatically as soon as you start the CLI; if that does not happen, type /mcp auth exact-ai-connect.
4Type /mcp to check whether the connector is active and ask your question.
Are you working with Gemini Enterprise? Then an administrator registers the connector as a custom MCP datastore with the connector link and OAuth. We are happy to help you with that.
What can you ask Gemini about your bookkeeping?
With the connector active you query your Exact Online administration in plain language. Gemini retrieves the figures and can, with your approval, also prepare actions. For example:
"Give me an overview of my revenue per month this year."
"Which invoices have been open for more than 30 days?"
"What is my net profit this quarter and which cost item stands out?"
"Prepare this supplier invoice as a draft purchase invoice in Exact Online."

Is the connector with Gemini secure?
Your data stays in Exact Online. The authorisation runs through Exact Online itself, so you do not share any password with the AI tool and you can revoke access whenever you want. More about how we handle security and privacy can be found in the general connector article.
Prefer a different AI assistant?
The connector is not tied to Gemini. Do you prefer to work in a regular chat? Then take a look at the instructions for ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot or Perplexity.
Frequently asked questions
Not yet. The standard Gemini app cannot add its own connector through a link. That is why you connect to Exact Online via the Gemini CLI or via Gemini Enterprise. If you prefer working in a regular chat without a command line, then Claude or ChatGPT is a more accessible choice.
For the Gemini CLI you can: you edit a configuration file and work from the command line. If you are not comfortable with that, an AI assistant with a regular chat interface, such as Claude or ChatGPT, is an easier start with the same connector.
Google is shifting its CLI tooling to Antigravity CLI. As a result, the exact commands and the path to the configuration file can differ per version. The principle stays the same: you add the connector link under mcpServers. Follow Google's current instructions.
Yes. Your data stays in Exact Online and the authorisation runs through Exact Online itself, so you do not share a password with the AI tool. You can also revoke access again at any time, and an entry or invoice is only processed definitively after your approval.
