Twinfield AI koppeling

What exactly does Twinfield AI Connect do?

Twinfield AI Connect is an MCP connector that links your Twinfield administration to an AI tool such as ChatGPT, Claude or Copilot. You no longer have to dig through journals or create exports; you ask your question and get an immediate answer from your own figures. Real time, secure and without needing any technical knowledge.

Where you used to build overviews yourself or click through periods, you now simply type what you want to know. The AI looks it up in your Twinfield administration and prepares the answer for you straight away.

How do you work with it?

The way you add the connector differs per AI tool. In Claude you install our app directly, in the other tools you add a connector link. After that you connect your Twinfield administration once and simply ask your questions. Below you will find the exact steps for each tool.

This is the connector link that you add to ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot or Perplexity:

Choose your AI tool

Claude
Twinfield AI Connect
Twinfield AI Connect, by iWebDevelopment Connect Twinfield to your AI assistant for live insight into your figures and actions with your approval.
Install
1Click Install and log in with your Claude account. This works on all plans, including free.
2On the app page, click Install. If you work in a Team or Enterprise account without administrator rights, it says Request and your request goes directly to the administrator of your organization.
3In Claude, click Connect next to the connector. Your browser opens the Twinfield login screen. Log in and click Authorize. You only need to do this once.
4Open a new chat and ask your first question.
Tip: you turn the connector on and off per conversation using the + button at the bottom left, under Connectors.
Not working right away? Are you using the Claude desktop app? Close it completely (on Mac with Cmd+Q, the cross only closes the window) and start it again.
ChatGPT
Requires a paid ChatGPT subscription (Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Education). On Plus and Pro you enable Developer Mode yourself; with Business and Enterprise an administrator can manage or restrict this. Developer Mode is still in beta.
1Go to Settings → Security and login and turn on Developer Mode. Confirm the notification.
2Go to Settings → Plugins (or open chatgpt.com/plugins directly).
3Click the plus button to create a developer-mode app.
4Give the connector a name (for example Twinfield AI Connect) and paste the connector link into the server URL field. Choose OAuth as authentication.
5Click Create. You will be redirected to Twinfield. Log in and click Authorize. You only have to do this once.
6Open a new chat, choose Developer mode via the + menu, turn on the connector and ask your first question.
Tip: mention in your question that you want to use Twinfield AI Connect, so ChatGPT immediately picks the right source.
Gemini
The standard Gemini app cannot yet add its own connector via a link. This works through the Gemini CLI (for technical users) or through Gemini Enterprise. Please note: Google is moving its CLI tooling to Antigravity CLI, so the exact commands may differ per version.

Via the command line

1Install Google's Gemini CLI on your computer. Follow Google's installation instructions; the tooling is shifting to Antigravity CLI.
2Add the connector to your MCP configuration under mcpServers, with the connector link as the server.{ "mcpServers": { "twinfield-ai-connect": { "httpUrl": "https://mcp-twinfield.iwebdevelopment.com" } } }
3Start the CLI. You will be prompted in your browser to log in to Twinfield. Log in and click Authorize.
4Type /mcp to check whether the connector is active and ask your question.
Working with Gemini Enterprise? In that case an administrator registers the connector as a custom MCP datastore with the connector link and OAuth. We are happy to help you with that.
Copilot
Requires a Copilot Studio license. With a free 30-day trial you can test it first. Make sure generative orchestration is turned on.
1Open your agent in Copilot Studio and go to Tools.
2Click on Add a tool and then on New tool.
3Choose Model Context Protocol.
4Give the connector a name (for example Twinfield AI Connect), a short description, and paste the connector link into the Server URL field.
5For authentication, choose OAuth 2.0 → Dynamic discovery.
6Click on Create and then on Add to agent. You log in to Twinfield once and click on Authorize.
Please note: Copilot Studio is an environment for building agents, not a regular chat. Have you not set that up yet? We are happy to help you get started.
Perplexity
Requires Perplexity Pro, Max or Enterprise.
1Go to Account settings and choose All settings → Connectors.
2Click + Custom connector in the top right and choose Remote.
3Give the connector a name (for example Twinfield AI Connect) and paste the connector link into the server URL field.
4Tick the box confirming that you understand custom connectors can carry risks and click Add.
5Click the connector to start authorization. You will be redirected to Twinfield. Log in and click Authorize. You only need to do this once.
6In the chat, click the + (Connectors and sources), turn on Twinfield AI Connect and ask your question.
Tip: is the connector ready but you are not getting an answer from your figures? Check that Twinfield AI Connect is ticked under the + menu before you ask your question.

What can you do with it?

Twinfield AI Connect does more than answer questions. It reads your figures, builds overviews and can also prepare things for you in your Twinfield administration. A few concrete examples:

Questions and analyses

Overviews on request

Ask for an overview and the AI builds it straight from your Twinfield figures.

"Give me my revenue per period for this administration."
"Show the balances per general ledger account this month."

Accounts receivable and cash flow

See straight away who still needs to pay and what that does to your liquidity.

"Which sales invoices have been open for more than 30 days?"
"Which of my customers still need to pay and how much money is involved?"

Costs per cost centre

Break down your figures across cost centres and dimensions without building an analysis yourself.

"Divide my costs across the cost centres this period."
"Which cost centre has the highest costs this quarter?"

VAT on request

Check your VAT position without having to search through the return yourself.

"How much VAT do I need to declare this quarter?"
"Show the VAT per rate for this period."

Actions and automation

Prepare a sales transaction

Have a draft sales transaction drawn up with the right customer and lines.

"Create a draft sales transaction for customer X."
"Prepare a sales invoice like last month's, but for customer Y."

Purchase invoice from PDF

Add a purchase invoice and let the AI read it in and prepare it as a draft transaction.

"Read this purchase invoice and prepare it as a transaction in Twinfield."
"Check whether the amount on this purchase invoice matches the order."

Reconciliation and bank book

Have open items reconciled and get suggestions for the tricky cases.

"Which open items can you reconcile?"
"Reconcile the payment from customer X against the correct invoice."

Reminders and overviews

Have reminders drawn up or a recurring overview compiled whenever you ask for it.

"Write a reminder for customers with invoices older than 30 days."
"Give me an overview of the outstanding accounts receivable."

With write actions you stay in control: the AI first prepares a transaction or invoice as a draft, and you approve it before it is finalised in your Twinfield administration.

Works with your favourite AI tool. Compatible with ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot and Perplexity.

Security & privacy

Your accounting data is sensitive. We understand that better than anyone. That is why:

Your data, your environment. Your administration stays in Twinfield. You decide who gets access to it.
Secure authorization. You connect through a secure authorization, without sharing your password with the AI tool.
ISO 27001 certified. iWebDevelopment meets the strictest international security standards.
You decide on access. You can revoke the authorization again at any time.

Solving problems

Running into something? Below you will find the most common situations and how to solve them.

The AI does not recognize the connector
Are you using Claude? Check whether the app is installed and whether you clicked Connect. In the other AI tools, check that the connector link has been entered correctly: https://mcp-twinfield.iwebdevelopment.com. Are you using a desktop app such as Claude Desktop? Close the app completely and start it again. On macOS you do that with Cmd+Q, the cross only closes the window.
You cannot add connectors in Claude
In Team and Enterprise accounts, only the owner or an administrator can add connectors. In that case the app page shows Request instead of Install. Click it and your request goes straight to your organisation's administrator.
You get a login or authorisation error
Go to Twinfield and check whether the connector is authorised under your app connectors. If not, run through the authorisation step again. Is the connector active but not working? Your authorisation may have expired after a period of inactivity. In that case, authorise again.
The AI returns no results or empty answers
Check whether you have access to the administration you are querying. Not every user role has access to all data. First try a simple question, such as "Which administrations do I have?", to test whether the connection works.

Frequently asked questions

The connector works with ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot and Perplexity. For most tools you need a paid subscription, and with Claude you can even add a connector using a free account. The approach is the same everywhere: add the connector link, authorise once with Twinfield and then simply ask your questions.

The AI can prepare transactions, invoices and reminders for you, but always as a draft first. You approve every action before anything becomes final in your administration, so you stay in control.

Yes. Your data stays in Twinfield and the authorisation runs through Twinfield itself, without you sharing your password with the AI tool. You can revoke access again at any time. iWebDevelopment is also ISO 27001 certified and the connector is hosted in the EU.

First check whether the connector link was copied correctly. If you use a desktop app such as Claude Desktop, close it completely (on a Mac with Cmd+Q) and start it again. Then test the connection with a simple question, for example which administrations you have.

Everything you would otherwise look up yourself: revenue per period, balances per general ledger account, outstanding debtors, costs per cost centre or your VAT position for the quarter. You ask the question in plain language and the AI retrieves the data from your Twinfield administration in real time.
