Exact Online AI koppeling

Do you want to connect Twinfield with Mistral? The assistant from French company Mistral AI, formerly Le Chat and now Vibe, supports your own connectors, even on a free account. Twinfield AI Connect is set up in a few minutes. After that you query your Twinfield administration in the chat and get answers from your current figures.

Below you can read how to connect Mistral with Twinfield, which questions you can ask and what to watch out for. Are you looking for the explanation of the connector itself, separate from an AI tool? You will find it in How does the Twinfield AI Connect connector work?

Does Mistral work with Twinfield?

Yes. Mistral works with Twinfield through Twinfield AI Connect, a connector based on MCP (Model Context Protocol), the open standard that connects AI to your own tools and data. Mistral calls this a Custom MCP Connector. You add it on chat.mistral.ai, authorise it once with Twinfield and then ask your questions in the chat. For firms that prefer to source their AI from a European provider, Mistral is a logical choice.

Connecting Twinfield with Mistral, step by step

This is the connector link you add to Mistral:

https://mcp-twinfield.iwebdevelopment.com
You need administrator rights to add a connector. On Free, Pro and Student you are automatically an administrator as the account owner. If you work with Team or Enterprise, ask your administrator.
1Go to chat.mistral.ai and open Connectors in the sidebar.
2Click + Add Connector and choose the Custom MCP Connector tab.
3Under Connector name enter a name without spaces or punctuation, for example TwinfieldAIConnect. Paste the connector link into the Server URL field.
4Click Connect. Mistral recognises how to log in by itself and sends you to Twinfield. Log in and click Authorise. You only have to do this once.
5Start a conversation in Work, check in the tools menu that TwinfieldAIConnect is switched on and ask your question.
Tip: under Connectors → My Connectors open TwinfieldAIConnect and choose the Functions tab. There you decide per function whether Mistral asks for permission first. Functions that only retrieve data can be set to Always allow. Leave functions that create or change something on manual approval.

What can you ask Mistral about your bookkeeping?

With the connector active you query your Twinfield administration directly. Mistral finds the answer in your figures and can, once you approve, also prepare something. A few examples:

"What is the result up to and including this period, compared with last year?"
"Which entries are still missing a cost centre?"
"What is still left on the suspense accounts?"
"Prepare a draft sales invoice for this customer."

If you want Mistral to prepare something, it asks for permission first. Only then is it processed in Twinfield. You will find the complete overview of what the connector can do in How does the Twinfield AI Connect connector work?

Is the connector with Mistral safe?

Your bookkeeping data stays in Twinfield. Authorisation runs through Twinfield itself, so you do not share your password with Mistral and you can revoke access whenever you want. You can read more about safety and privacy in the general connector article.

Please note: on Free, Pro and Student, Mistral uses your conversations by default to train its models. If you work with financial data, turn that off in the management panel of your account. On Enterprise, training is off by default; on Team, the administrator can turn off training for the entire organisation. According to Mistral, data it retrieves through a connector is never used to train models.
